Dunoon based entrepreneur, Sam Coley – well known for his successful and innovative work at SamTeq, today sees his latest venture – TickX – in the running for a chance to pitch to Richard Branson to win a share of a £1,000,000 prize pot.
TickX, which Sam co-founded with friend Steve Pearce, is the UK’s search engine for event tickets. It is aimed at simplifying the process of finding tickets and getting the best deal.
With a beta stage successfully under their belt; a website & app featuring over 34,000 events now live; and recently being runner-up at VentureFest, they are confident they can impress Mr Branson- and so is For Argyll.
This capability for invention and innovation – and in IT – and allied with this sort of entrepreneurial drive is rare anywhere.
The national Pitch to Rich contest, run by Virgin Media Business, will see them fight it out with thousands of others in a bid to seek support from the super-rich entrepreneur.
But to get to the next stage of the competition however they need votes and – as the only start-up entry for the Highlands & Islands – are appealing to the local community for their help.
These guys are well worth votes so please support them and please get friends to do the same. This is a business that can build for Argyll.
Sam Coley says: ‘We are incredibly excited to get through to the next stage which would provide an amazing platform for us to launch TickX.
‘I also want to prove that you don’t have to be in London to start a successful tech company.
‘On a more personal level, Richard Branson has been my biggest role model since a young age so pitching in front of him would be an amazing experience.’
The TickX pitch – for you to see – and the Voting Box to vote for them are online here.
Please do it NOW. We have.
After voting, you will get an email with a verification code to click – and you must do this to get your vote counted. This is part of making sure that this is a fair contest, which gives everyone even more of an incentive to vote for TickX.
